Holiday concert within the project “Days of european languages in UWED”

From November 30 to December 13, 2019, the University of World Economy and Diplomacy hosted traditional events organized by the Department of Romano-Germanic Languages within the framework of the project “Days of European Languages in UWED”.
It was a real holiday for all who are interested in the culture and traditions of France, Spain, Italy and Germany. The program included events of various kinds: the intellectual game “What? Where? When?” on the history and geography of European countries, an essay competition on the topics: “ Why do I learn a foreign language” and “Multilingualism - a language without borders”.
The objective of the events announced by the organizers is to increase the motivation to study French, Italian, German and Spanish as the first or second foreign language. Particularly emphasized is the need to involve students of all parallels, regardless of their level of knowledge of a foreign language, in the events of the program, offering them tasks and activities at a feasible level.
Being a traditional event, and this year the gala concert was no exception to the rule, becoming the culmination of the entire project and the final chord of the "Days of European Languages in UWED".
Opening speech was made by the First Vice-Rector of the UWED Bakoev M.T. He thanked the teachers of the department for their professionalism, dedicated work, love for their work and greeted the guests of the event: Sophie Zhindt - Attache for educational cooperation at the French Embassy in Uzbekistan, Jean-Claude Bozhan - Honorary Consul of Belgium, Franz Voerli - Deputy Director French school in Tashkent, etc.
On the stage, students demonstrated a high level of knowledge of foreign languages and extraordinary artistic abilities. As usual, the vast majority of numbers consisted of vocal performances, poetic works of foreign authors and bright incendiary dances, showing sketches in German and French.
In conclusion, the floor was provided by Sophie Gindt. The guest thanked for the invitation and noted the importance of such events in increasing the motivation to learn foreign languages.
After the concert, the guests of the evening enjoyed European cuisine.
