The II Central Asian International Seminar "Teaching Journalism for Sustainable Development" was held at Mirzo Ulugbek National University of Uzbekistan and was dedicated to World Television Day. It was attended by scientists, journalists, researchers, experts in the field of media, heads of information centers and departments of the republic. November 21, the UN General Assembly proclaimed World Television Day. On this day in 1966, the first World Television Forum was held.

Welcoming speeches and reports were delivered by the Vice-Rector for International Relations of the NUUz R.Kh. Shirinova, Head of the Press Service of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan Bakhtiyar Khasanov, Advisor to the Minister of Higher and Secondary Special Education of Uzbekistan on Information Policy Farhod Babashev, Doctor of Political Sciences, Professor, Head of the Department of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University G.S. Sultanbaev, Dean of the Journalism Department of the Kyrgyz National University named after Zhusup Balasagyn A.T. Duyshekeev, deck Faculty of Journalism of Bishkek State University A.Asanova, department head of the Karakalpak State University Department of Journalism Davlatbek Bekbuliev Professor UWED F.I.Muminova. The moderator of the event was a doctor of philological sciences, professor of the National University of Uzbekistan Ya.M. Mamatova.

A comprehensive and new conceptual approach to education was presented by Professor G. Sultanbaeva from Kazakhstan. Her report was entitled “Transition to a new educational format”. She noted that Mirzo Ulugbek National University of Uzbekistan, celebrating its centenary, is the alma mater of all higher educational universities, institutes of Central Asia. It is also significant that this international forum takes place in the year declared by the heads of two states, the Year of Kazakhstan in Uzbekistan.
