At the UWED by Latvian Embassy in Uzbekistan was organised an exhibition-presentation of books transferred to the library

On a symbolic date - Independence Day of Latvia, the Embassy of this country in Uzbekistan donated to the UMED library a large collection of books from 86 titles published over the past years in English, Russian and Latvian about the history, literature, culture, and modern achievements of Latvia. Presentation DVDs on the topic “Education in Latvia” were also broadcast.
During a meeting with teachers and students at the UMED Information and Resource Center, the Ambassador of Latvia to Uzbekistan, Mr. Michaels Popkovs, spoke in detail about the historical stages of the development of his country and expressed confidence that the literature handed over to him would become a valuable teaching aid in understanding the complex processes taking place in the countries of the European Union.
The head of the UWED, who is represented by the Vice-Rector for International Relations, Prof. S. Saidkasimov on behalf of teachers and students, he said sincerely we have been greatful to say thank the Embassy of Latvia for a valuable gifts.
