The National Library of Uzbekistan named after Alisher Navoi hosted a presentation of a collection of poems by Dr. Ibragim Mavlanov, Professor of UWED, dedicated to the Victory in the Second World War. It was named "To the Swallows who brought the News of Holy Victories" and is timed to coincide with the upcoming Day of Remembrance and Honors.

The author dedicates the collection of poems to his parents – Rajabbay Mavlanov the participant in the Second World War and Alexandra Mavlanova-(Soboleva) a home front worker. The idea of writing poetry was inspired by the author's stories about his father's participation in the war, as well as his mother's memories of working in the rear from the age of 14. At the event, I. Mavlanov told how his generation was brought up on stories, feature films, novels about that difficult period, as well as on works about military leaders and participants of the Second World War, which helped to better understand the severity of those days.

According to the author's memoirs, often on Sundays his friends-front-line soldiers came to his father and remembered their participation in the battles. Young people witnessed these stories, and now they remember those meetings with warmth.

It is the duty of each of us to pay tribute to the memory of our ancestors who gave their lives for the peace and well - being of the people, who fought fearlessly against the enemy. The events of those harsh days should never be forgotten.
