On October 21, 2019, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Sh. M. Mirziyoyev signed a decree on the large-scale celebration of the day of the Uzbek language.

"We should consider our attitude to the state language as an attitude to our independence, devotion and respect for it as devotion and respect for the Motherland. This should become the rule of our life ", - Shavkat Mirziyoyev said at the solemn meeting.

A large-scale celebration of the day of the Uzbek language on October 21, 2019 was also held at the University of World Economy and Diplomacy.

The event was opened by Vice-rector for educational work Laziz Utkirovich Mingishov, who in his speech not only spoke about the wealth and great importance of the Uzbek language and its history, but also congratulated the teaching staff, guests and students of the University on this great day. He noted their excellent knowledge of the Uzbek language, revealed in the process of writing competition among teachers and students in the form of dictation, held on October 18, 2019. The most distinguished were awarded with personal certificates of honor, as well as excellent books by Uzbek authors. The winners of the contest for the most competently written dictation were: first-year student of the faculty "International relations" Abduraufov Zhaloliddin in the nomination "the most literate Student", head of the Department of Oriental languages Jalilova Nilufar in the nomination "the most literate Methodist", as well as Deputy Dean of the faculty "International Economics and Management" Inagamov Sarvar in the nomination "the most literate teacher".

In addition to awarding the winners, the guests were also expected by an entertaining event in the form of famous Russian entertaining show "КВН" on the theme "Experts of the Uzbek language", held among the 1st year students of all faculties of bachelor's degree. Students in a fascinating way provided the jury with their performances, dances, songs and jokes. But not only in creativity there was a competition between faculties, but also in knowledge. Students explained the meanings of phraseological units, gave equivalents of words from their native language to phrases given in Russian, etc. 

The event, held by the Department of Uzbek and Russian languages, was held in a very friendly and warm atmosphere. The holiday left no one indifferent and will remain in our memory for a long time.
