The Ambassador of Japan, Mr. Fujiyama Yoshinori, visited the UWED with a working visit. Mr. Ambassador was accompanied by the third secretary of the embassy Matsumoto Konsuke, as well as the attache of the embassy Tsutaki Kuriya.

Mr. Fujiyama Yoshinori informed the UWED management that on September 20 this year they were presented with credentials to the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Sh. Mirziyoyev and he officially began his activities as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Uzbekistan.

The meeting affects specifically  issues of further joint cooperation between the parties. In particular, the prospects of creating a Center for the Integrated Study of Japan were discussed, the purpose of which is to comprehensively study the features of the historical and modern development of Japan. The parties expressed the view that the creation of such a Center will contribute to the broad development of bilateral relations between Japan and Uzbekistan, the training of highly qualified experts in Japan, with good knowledge of the Japanese language.

In conclusion, both sides announced their intention to promote cooperation in the field of education, strengthen partnerships between leading universities in Japan and the UWED.

The guests also took a great interest in the university’s information resource center and talked with a group of students at the UWED, appreciating their level of Japanese language proficiency.

The first visit of the newly appointed Ambassador of Japan to the UWED, according to him, allowed him to really appreciate the high potential of the UWED and to say with confidence that the embassy intends to further develop joint cooperation.
