March 28, 2019 Ms. Bianka Kopp, Coordinator of the Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice Program of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) in Vienna, visited the UWED as part of her visit to Uzbekistan.

At the conference with secretary of University took a part Ms. Bianka Kopp, I. Mukimova, National Coordinator of the Regional Representative Office of UNODC in Central Asia, U. Nasirov, Project Coordinator of the Regional Representative Office of the UNODC in Central Asia, prof. S.S. Saidkasimov, Vice-Rector of UWED on International Relations, prof. I.A Hamedov, Director of the Center for Inte rnational Legal Studies and Comparative Public Law, G.S. Ismailova, the dean of the faculty of “International law”, prof. S.M. Adylkhodjaeva. the head of the department of “International public law and state-legal disciplines

Ms. Bianka Kopp presented the achieved results of the Education for Justice Initiative (E4J), which is being implemented as a part of the Plan of Practical Measures («Road Map»), to develop further cooperation between the Republic of Uzbekistan and UNODC during the period of 2017-2019. Initiative of The Education for Justice (E4J) was developed as part of the Global Program for the Implementation of the Doha Declaration in order to create and distribute educational materials on crime prevention and criminal justice for primary, secondary and higher education.

By grand guest has been presented new informational materials, including educational modules on the prevention of terrorism, the fight against corruption and cybercrime, trafficking of firearms, trafficking in person and illegal migration, and also identified possible areas of cooperation between UWED in the framework of the Program on crime prevention and criminal justice of the UNODC.

At the conference, the parties mention the particular importance and significance of the Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice Program of UNODC, looking upon the events which are relevant for Uzbekistan and practical measures to further develop useful cooperation in program of UN mandates areas.

The primary emphasis was put on the discussing the suggestion to create a joint educational structure for the implementation and monitoring of the Plan of Practical Measures (“Road Map”) of the Program in the UWED, whose activities would undoubtedly be useful not only for the UWED and others universities of the Uzbekistan, but also for the education of Central Asia.
