On May 4, 2017, a "master class" for second-year students of the Faculty of International Law of the University of World Economy and Diplomacy was organized at the Center for the Further Training of Lawyers.

During the meeting, the teachers of the Center for the Further Training of Lawyers: S. Maripov and B. Usmonov informed students about the ongoing reforms of the judicial and legal system within the framework of the Strategy for Action on the five priority development directions of the Republic of Uzbekistan in 2017-2021.

The students were also informed about the legislative and organizational measures to ensure the rule of law and genuine independence of the court, in particular, the establishment of the Supreme Judicial Council, the expansion of the application of the Habeas Corps, the reduction of the periods of pre-trial detention to 48 hours, the terms of the preliminary investigation, the strengthening of the powers of advocates in legal proceedings.

At the meeting, a wide exchange of views took place on the mechanisms for effective implementation of tasks, based on the priority areas of the Strategy for Actions.  The students received answers to their questions.
