The conference on the theme "Actual issues of legal support of the foreign policy of the state to protect and promote its national interests on the international arena at the modern stage" was held on December 24, 2015 at the University of World Economy and Diplomacy
The conference was organized by the Committee of the Senate of Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan on foreign policy issues, along with the Institute for Monitoring of Current Legislation under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the University of World Economy and Diplomacy.
The conference was attended by members of the Senate and the deputies of the Legislative Chamber of Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan, representatives of the Institute for Monitoring Current Legislation and the Academy of Public Administration under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, members of the Cabinet of Ministers, relevant ministries and agencies, scientists, professors and experts of other institutions, and representatives of mass media.
The conference participants emphasized that during the years of independence the c formed a comprehensive, balanced foreign policy, based on national interests, widely regarded in the world and strengthen the authority of the country in international community. The most important step in the development of the legal framework of foreign policy of the country was the adoption of the Concept of foreign policy of the Republic of Uzbekistan, which defined the fundamental principles and strategic priorities of the foreign policy of the state. Uzbekistan has joined more than 200 universal international treaties and accepted the obligation to create the necessary organizational and legal conditions for their implementation, having secured the principle of the priority of universally recognized norms of international law in the Constitution of the Republic of Uzbekistan. The fulfillment of issues of national legislation in this area, as well as the implementation of international commitments accepted by Uzbekistan, are constantly monitored by the committees of the Oliy Majlis. Over the recent years the relevant committees of the Parliament has conducted more than 20 events devoted to the study of execution of the provisions of international treaties implemented into the national law.
