On March 14th, the University of World Economy and Diplomacy hosted a meeting of representatives of the British Council with faculty and students of UWED. The meeting was addressed by the Director of the British Council Mark  Crossey where he spoke about the activities of the British Council in Uzbekistan.

Theatrical performances: sonnets and monologues from Shakespeare's works were presented by the students of the Institute of Culture and Arts in the Russian, Uzbek and English languages. It was held by the British Council in cooperation with the Institute of Culture and Arts in the framework of “Shakespeare's Lives” project, dedicated to the anniversary of William  Shakespeare .

Besides, the representatives of the British Council prepared  presentations on the resources of the British Council for students and teachers. Students were introduced information about resources to prepare for IELTS as well as  the requirements for passing the IELTS international exam.

In addition, useful information on the contests held by the British Council in partnership with Tagus Let's go study for two free places for the IELTS exam was given.  The announcement about the Competition for the "Best Youth Initiative for Sustainable Development", held by the British Council, together with the State Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan for Nature Protection, the Ministry of Higher and Secondary Special Education of the Republic of Uzbekistan with the support of the British Embassy in Tashkent and the Delegation of the European Union in Uzbekistan was made.
