On July 20, this year, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoev left for the city of Cholponota at the invitation of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadir Japarov. At the moment, the fourth Consultative meeting of the leaders of the Central Asian countries is being held here.

It should be noted that the initiative to hold Consultative meetings of the leaders of the Central Asian countries was put forward by the head of our country at the 72nd session of the United Nations General Assembly in 2017.

The President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoev, President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kasim-Jomart Tokaev, President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon and President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhammedov are participating in this summit chaired by the President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadir Japarov.

In his speech, the head of state emphasized that as a result of such dialogues, it was possible to strengthen friendship and good neighborly relations, to create a new constructive environment for regional cooperation in Central Asia, and put forward important initiatives.

“I would like to highlight the effective results of the Central Asian Youth Forum held in Tashkent in May of this year. We witnessed once again that our young people have similar visions and aspirations, strong intellectual potential.

We must continue to fully support their innovative initiatives, creative approaches and startup projects. We propose to prepare a multilateral agreement on the general directions of youth policy at our next meeting,” said Shavkat Mirziyoev.

At the Consultative meeting of the leaders of the Central Asian countries, Kasim-Jomart Tokaev announced that Kazakhstan is ready to participate in the construction of the Mazari-Sharif-Kabul-Peshowar railway.

“Kazakhstan is ready to participate in the construction of the railway “Mazari Sharif-Kabul-Peshowar”. In particular, we can ensure continuous delivery of construction materials. We call on our partners to actively use Kazakhstan-Turkmenistan-Iran railways,” said Tokaev.

In addition, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev proposed to establish a permanent Consultation of the heads of the special services of the Central Asian countries.

“Unfortunately, the recent tragic events in Uzbekistan have once again confirmed that there are destructive forces that are trying to disrupt our plans and create chaos and instability in our region,” said the head of our state.

A number of proposals were put forward by the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan during the consultation meeting:

creation of a system of border trade zones with uniform rules and simplified procedures for the delivery of goods;

to organize the annual forum of the Central Asian regions;

Development of a “road map” for the promotion of alternative transport corridors to enter the markets of India, Pakistan and China;

joint development of a complex scheme of guaranteeing the population with food products of a wide nomenclature;

Holding the Central Asian culture, art and film festival alternately in our countries;

establishment of a joint group of experts to prepare specific proposals for increasing mutual tourist flows;

Preparation of a multilateral agreement on the general directions of youth policy.

Concluding his speech, the head of state expressed confidence that the results of the consultative meeting will make a significant contribution to further strengthening the multifaceted partnership of the brotherly nations of Central Asia.
