The Government of Japan awarded the Order of the First Deputy Chairman of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis and the Rector of the University of World Economy and Diplomacy Sadyk Safayev

The First Deputy Chairman of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis and rector of the University of World Economy and Diplomacy Sadyk Safayev was awarded the imperial “Grand Cordon of the Order of the Rising Sun” by the Japanese government.

On November 3, the Japanese government reportedly released a list of foreigners awarded the 2021 Imperial Order. The list includes the rector of the University of World Economy and Diplomacy Sadyk Safayev.

He was awarded the “Grand Cordon of the Order of the Rising Sun” for many years of service in deepening bilateral ties and promoting friendly relations between Japan and Uzbekistan.

The “Grand Cordon of the Order of the Rising Sun” is the highest “Order of the Rising Sun”, awarded only to persons who have achieved outstanding results, and is awarded for the first time in Uzbekistan. It should be noted that this order has been awarded since 1875.

According to the Japanese Embassy in Tashkent, “Sadyk Safayev served as Foreign Minister during the launch of the “Central Asia + Japan Dialogue” which is an important platform between Japan and Central Asia, and has contributed to strengthening relations between Japan and Uzbekistan for many years. As the former chairman of the inter-parliamentary group “Oliy Majlis - Parliament of Japan”, he also contributed to the development of parliamentary exchanges between the two countries. His achievements in strengthening relations and friendship between the two countries can be called extremely significant”.
