The concept of memory and honor has a deep meaning. The population of Uzbekistan at the beginning of the war was about 6.5 million people, of which 1.5 million participated in the war. More than 500 thousand of our compatriots died on the battlefields, and many returned as disabled people, went missing. All this shows how much this victory cost our people.

In connection with the celebration of May 9 – the Day of Memory and Honors, as well as the 76th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War, the administration of the University of World Economy and Diplomacy visited war veterans. Meetings under the mottos "No one is forgotten, nothing is forgotten", " The Great Victory is the pride of generations" were organized in the mahallas "Beshkapi" and "Ahmad Yugnaki" attached to the UWED of Tashkent. Participants of the Second World War and veterans who worked in the rear A. I. Zuev, E. S. Gracheva, N. N. Fomin shared their memories of life in wartime.
