Scientific and practical seminar on the topic "Doing Business ranking: methodological and applied aspects of improving the country's position in the ranking"

At the University of World Economy and Diplomacy, a scientific and practical seminar was held on the topic "Doing Business Ranking: Methodological and applied aspects of improving the country's position in the ranking", dedicated to the study of promoting the country's position in international rankings, including in the ranking of World Bank “Doing Business”. The seminar was opened by the rector of the University of world economy and diplomacy, PhD in Political Science Komiljon Karimov with a welcoming speech, in which he emphasized the importance of conducting scientific research aimed at developing recommendations for promoting Uzbekistan's position in international rankings in order to increase the country's positive image in the international arena. Doctor of Law, Professor Isa Hamedov acquainted the participants of the seminar with the current project in the UWED on the topic "Improving the position of the country in the ranking "Doing Business" based on the study of foreign experience", which involved professors and teachers of the faculties "International Law", "International economics and management" and "International relations" as well as senior students, undergraduates and researchers.

Presentations were made by the Head of the Department of Economic theory, Ph.D., Laylo Tashpulatova, Associate Professor of the Department of Economic theory, Ph.D., Rano Zhuraeva, Associate Professor of the Department of International economics, Ph.D. Gavhar Sultanova, 4th year students of the faculty of International economics and management Ruslan Yakovlev, Firdavs Salokhidinov, Omon Jalolov, 4th year student of the faculty of International law Ildar Timoshev.

During the speeches of the speakers, it was shown:

• the importance of international rankings in country's image formation;
• disclosed the methodology for forming the Doing Business rating;
• identified the problems of promoting Uzbekistan's position in the Doing Business ranking and ways to solve them;
• an analysis of the positions of the Central Asian countries in the ranking was carried out;
• the foreign experience of promoting countries according to various ranking indicators;
• disclosed problematic aspects of the country's advancement according to the indicator "International Trade";
• the directions of improving legal norms to improve the position of Uzbekistan on this indicator.

At the end of the seminar, the main points were discussed and the results were summed up.

The scientific and practical seminar was actively attended by Vice-rector for work with youth PhD Laziz Mingishev, Dean of the faculty of International Economics and Management, Ph.D. Mirzoumid Khamdamov, Dean of the faculty "International law" Shukhrat Urunbaev, teachers of the departments "Economic theory" and "International economics", scientific researchers, bachelor and master's degree students.
