On January 20, 2021 an official event was held to discuss the adoption of a new law in the Republic of Uzbekistan "On the Ombudsman for the Rights of the Child". The meeting, both online and offline, was attended by all associated institutions that had a willing to help improve the system of protecting the rights of the child in our country. The head of the Legal Clinic Ziyodullo Ubaydullaev, as well as 2nd year students of the Faculty of International Law, took part in the discussion and discussions.

Presentations were made by: Children's Ombudsman Aliya Yunusova, UNICEF Representative in Uzbekistan Munir Mammedzade, First Deputy Speaker of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis Akmal Saidov, Deputy Chairperson of the UN Committee on the Rights of the Child Renata Winter, Chair of the European Network of Children's Ombudsmen Bruce Adamson Shukhrat Bafayev, as well as Deputy Chairman of the Senate Committee for Youth, Culture and Sports Diloram Tashmukhammedova.

The legal clinic at UWED was invited as a participant, which is connected with the system for protecting the rights of the child. As a reminder, the Legal Clinic at UWED signed a Memorandum of Cooperation with the Ombudsman for Children's Rights in November 2020. The action plan is designed for 2021 to work with difficult minors. The project was named "Street Law".
