World children’s day

Today is World Children's Day. On this day, 20th November “Declaration of the rights of the Child” of 1959 and “Convention on the Rights of the Child” of 1989 were adopted. In regard to this event, the memorandum of cooperation has been signed between Deputy Commissioner of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan for Human Rights (Ombudsman), i.e. Commissioner for Children's Rights and the Law Clinic of the University of World Economy and Diplomacy. The purpose of this declaration was set to protect the rights, freedoms and legitimate interests of the children, altogether with aiming at increasing public attention to the issues of children’s rights. In addition, a new agreement has been, which objectives cover the events on scientific and practical conferences and seminars within the framework of projects with corresponding organizations to promote the basic principles of ensuring the rights of the children, all of which stipulate the international legal documents on the rights of the children.

The memorandum of cooperation has been signed by O. Yunusova, Deputy Commissioner of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan for Human Rights (Ombudsman) - Commissioner for Children's Rights and G. Ismailova, vice-rector for science and innovations of the University of World Economy and Diplomacy.
