Logo of the Department and major "Political Science" of UWED

On the 29th of October curatorial hour was held in groups 3-1c-19 and 3-2c-19, where the theme was summing up the results of the competition "The best logo of the Department and Major "Political Science" of UWED.

The competition was held from September 2020 among political science students of the University of World Economy and Diplomacy. The logo requirements were as follows:

  • The logo had to have a modern original design
  • The logo should have included the words "Siyosatshunoslik" or " Political Science»
  • The candidate providing the work should have studied in the major of "Political Science" at UWED

By the end of the competition (October 25), 10 works were received. Among them distinguished works were made by Karimova Raykhona, Makhsetov Dastan and Otabekjonov Ramzbek.

The next day, the competition jury began selecting the logo via the Zoom platform. The jury included the Vice-rector for science and innovations, G. S. Ismailova, Deputy Dean of the Faculty of International Relations, S. K. Tillyakhodjaeva, Head of Department of Political Science UWED, F. F. Sattarov, Professor, E. S. Sultanov, and the leader of the group 3-1c-19, F. O. Djamalov and the leader of the group 3-2c-19, M. Kh. Khasanova. All members of the jury positively noted the holding of this competition. In particular, Faridun Sattarov added that "the logo can and should serve not just as a symbol of identification. If well designed, it also tells the story of the organization, conveying the message in a way that helps establish an emotional connection with the target audience." Based on the results of the consultations, the jury members selected the logo of the student of group 3-1c-19 Otabekjonov Ramzbek.

On November 14, as part of the curatorial hour, F. F. Sattarov solemnly announced the results of the logo contest. In turn, the author of the work explained what each element in the logo means.

"Special emphasis was placed on the historical background of the formation of this profession in Uzbekistan, namely, according to the Decree of the President of Uzbekistan Sh.M. Mirziyoyev PP-4139 dated January 29, 2019, the University of World Economy and Diplomacy was entrusted with the opening of the Department of Political Science and training  bachelors in the corresponding major. Therefore, the logo used "since 2019". The dark azure color was used in the logo as a style-forming color and in its symbolism means love for the Motherland, chastity and justice. The central element of the graphic part of the logo is the image of the main building "A" of UWED, where the Faculty of International Relations is located, which trains future political scientists. An additional graphic element is a circle in the lower part of which is a Laurel wreath, symbolizing the triumph. The logo depicts the world map, which is a consistent feature with the official logo of the UWED" stated Otabekjonov Ramzbek.

Then the students of the groups expressed their positive comments about this event and sincerely congratulated their groupmate with the victory in the competition.

All participants will be given commemorative gifts and certificates after the pandemic situation stabilizes.
