Chess and checker tournament in a new online format

From October 7-8, 2020, a chess and checker tournament were held among students of the University of World Economy and Diplomacy, dedicated to the Teacher’s Day. Tournament was held by the UWED sports club in a new format. In connection with the measures aimed at preventing the spread of coronavirus infection, the responsible persons proposed the option of holding the tournament in an online format via the platform https://lichess.org/.
Responsible for the tournament was Dilmurodov Shukhrat. For the successful conduct of the tournament Dilmurodov Shukhrat carried out preliminary work aimed at the development of skills in online chess and checker. The purpose of this event was to identify students who can play chess and cheker well, instill interest in this game, which develops logic, attention and thinking. 12 students took part in the chess and checker game (the list is given below).

The students took part in the competition with great responsibility and undisguised interest. After determining the number of participants, a draw was held, according to which students were divided into pairs. The tournament was held in 4 stages. During all the games, Dilmuradov Shukhrat kept a protocol, on the basis of which the places of the winners were distributed and the winners of the tournament were identified.
