On November 14, 2015 a "round table" on the theme, "The Constitution and human rights" was held at the National Centre for Human Rights of the Republic of Uzbekistan. The "round table" was organized in collaboration with the University of World Economy and Diplomacy and devoted to the 23rd anniversary of the Constitution of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

The staff of the Center, teachers and students of the UWED attended the meeting. The Director of the Centre, Professor Akmal Saidov, opened the meeting.

The participants of the "round table" exchanged views on the role of the Constitution in our society, about political, economic, social and cultural rights and freedoms of humans and citizens guaranteed by the Constitution as well as on the national system of protection of human rights.

The panticipants also noted the importance of human rights education, discussed the human rights education system in our country as well as the tasks the national human rights institutions and higher education institutions, in particular, the National Centre for Human Rights of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the UWED are facing in this regard.

At the end of the meeting, the participants were presented with the new publications of the Centre on the protection of human rights. Moreover, students of the UWED were acquainted with the activities of the Centre. The event gave opportunity to students to strengthen their knowledge gained in the framework of the University discipline on "Human Rights" as well as to be acquainted with practice in the field and improve practical skills.
