At the thematic scientific meeting, the topic was widely discussed: "Prospects of the EU after Brexit and features of economic development in Eastern Europe."

The meeting was attended by Deputy Adviser to the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan - Director of the Center for Economic Research and Reforms under the Administration of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan O.A. Khakimov, representatives of the diplomatic corps - Head of the EU Mission in Uzbekistan Eduards Stiprais, Ambassador of Slovakia to Uzbekistan - Jan Bory, Head of the Department of Europe Office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs RUz D.A. Ataev, A.Tadzhiev - Attache of the Directorate of Europe of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan, chief scientific staff of the Institute of Strategic and Interregional Studies under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan U. Normatov and Sh. Akhmedov, director of the MGIMO branch under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation in Tashkent B.A. Islamov and others. The UWED was represented by G.S. Ismailova - Vice-Rector for Science and Innovation, and A.E.Shaikhov - Advisor to the Rector.

The moderator of the round table was the Vice-Rector for International Relations of the UWED, prof. Saidkasymov S.S.

Keynote addresses were made by a full member of the European Academy of Sciences and Arts, a prominent scientist and economist, Professor Stefan Kashshay, as well as Slovak Ambassador to Uzbekistan Jan Bory. Lecturers answered in detail the numerous questions of researchers and students. An active discussion took place on the most pressing issues of the political and socio-economic development of the European Union.

The distinguished guest solemnly presented the UMED library with a large number of sets of his five-volume books “Enterprises and Entrepreneurship”. In them, intended for economists, the experience of large European companies in developing the entrepreneurial environment, changes in the ownership structure during the period of economic reforms and transformations, etc. is thoroughly revealed.

As part of this meeting, the opening of a unique thematic exhibition dedicated to General Milan Rastislav Stefanik, a Slovak diplomat, politician and major astronomer who visited our region for the purpose of scientific research at the very beginning of the 20th century, was also held.

The coordinators of the event are A. Mukhitdinov - Head of the International Cooperation Department, and M. Khamdamov - Dean of the International Economics and Management, who organized the international meeting at a high organizational level.
