UWED students meeting with a professor from South Korea

November 12, 2019 A lecture by Shin Yongdo, a professor at the National Defense University of the Republic of Korea, on the topic: “Experience and Prospects for the Intensive Technological Development of South Korea” was held at the UWED.

The guest of the UWED, one of the leading economists in South Korea, on the example of numerous slides and videos revealed the unique experience of his country in transforming it from a poor, agrarian country, completely destroyed by the civil war, into one of the most prosperous high-tech economies in the world.

Prof. Shin Yongdo thoroughly revealed the ways and methods of managing the complex process of raising the South Korean economy, modernization and rapid economic growth, as well as the role of the state, which took on the role of the main conductor of large-scale and highly successful economic reforms.

The scientist answered numerous questions of students on various aspects of the “Korean economic miracle” and presented the university library with new textbooks on the Korean language.

The meeting was held in English and Korean as part of the involvement of prominent scientists from developed countries of the world in the educational process of UWED.
