The UWED was visited by the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Korea to Uzbekistan, Mr. Kang Jae Kwon.

The distinguished guest was accompanied by the third secretary of the Korean Embassy, ​​Mr. Gu Kwang Il, who previously worked as a KOICA Volunteer Lecturer at the UWED.

During the meeting, questions were discussed of further expanding the joint cooperation of the parties, in particular, the organization of a series of lectures by leading Korean scholars and diplomats at the UWED.

Also, the possibilities of a comprehensive study of the features of historical experience and the intensive technological development of South Korea were discussed. The parties expressed the view that active cooperation in the field of education will contribute to the broad development of bilateral relations between our countries.

The guests with great interest familiarized themselves with the information resource center of the university, with the Museum of Korean History, talked with a group of students of the UWED in Korean.

This visit of Mr. Kang Jae Kwon, according to him, allowed him to really appreciate the high intellectual potential of the UWED and to confidently state that the embassy intends to further develop joint cooperation, to contribute to an in-depth study of the language, culture, history and modern achievements of the Republic Korea.
