In accordance with the Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan No. PP-4139 from 01.29.2019 “On Measures to Improve the Efficiency of Training, Fundamental and Applied Research in Political Science”, internships for undergraduate and graduate students at the UWED are carried out, conducting research at the German Institute for International Politics and Security / Science and Politics Foundation (SWP).

SWP offers a three-month internship for undergraduate and graduate students to undertake research activities in the field of political sciences and related social sciences (economics, law, administrative sciences, ethnology and journalism).

The main conditions for participating in the internship are: good knowledge of German or English (oral and written); ability to work with computer programs and web browsers; own understanding of the contents of the internship; the presence of such qualities as responsibility, determination, ability to work in the group (information on the conditions of participation in the internship can be obtained at the following address: https://www.swp-berlin.org/en/about-swp/jobs-internships/internships/).

The start of regular internships is scheduled for March and June 2020. To participate in them, applicants must submit an application to SWP before December 31, 2019. and March 31, 2020, respectively (application forms in German and English are attached).

Based on the results of consideration of applications, candidates will receive an appropriate response. In case of successful completion of the selection, the internship participant will receive a scholarship in the amount of 300 euros per month for the entire period of its passage. Moreover, all other expenses (air travel, accommodation, meals, transportation) must be borne by the internship participant or his organization.

The internship will be arranged at the SWP headquarters in Berlin, where the trainee, based on the subject of his research, will be assigned to one of the research groups (there are the following research groups: EU and Europe; America; Eastern Europe and Eurasia; Near and Middle East, Africa; Asia; Security policy; Global issues). He will be provided with a workplace with office equipment, and he will gain access to the information database and the SWP library.

The internship is organized in free mode as agreed with the leader of the research team. At the same time, the internship participant, along with his main research work, will also participate in all types of activities of the assigned research group, including assistance in research projects, preparation of documentation and reference reports for group members, preparation of reports for workshops and conferences, literature search, editing and evaluation of scientific texts, research materials, assistance in organizing scientific events, etc.
